Our Dallas client company is seeking an Associate AWS Cloud Engineer with at least two years of hands-on
experience supporting AWS infrastructure in production environments. This role will deploy, administer,
automate, and support AWS services across multiple environments.

This opportunity is well suited for an infrastructure professional who has developed broad, hands-on AWS experience rather
than working within one narrow specialty. The successful candidate will support production systems, improve automation and deployment processes, troubleshoot issues across the technology stack, and collaborate with software development, security, and infrastructure teams.


Candidates may come from several relevant backgrounds, including:

  • A systems administrator who moved into AWS after managing Windows or Linux environments
  • An AWS engineer from a smaller team who has owned infrastructure from end to end
  • A software or application engineer who transitioned into infrastructure, IaC, deployment, and operations
  • An AWS engineer with strong Windows Server and Active Directory experience

    Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, administer, and support AWS infrastructure and services across multiple environments
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application issues and perform root-cause analysis
  • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and production support
  • Execute disaster-recovery procedures and operational runbooks
  • Monitor environments using Amazon CloudWatch and related tools
  • Respond to performance, availability, and security issues
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or an equivalent platform
  • Create and improve automation scripts that reduce manual operational work
  • Help implement and maintain AWS security controls and identity and access management
  • Collaborate with software development, security, and infrastructure teams
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures

Compensation and Benefits

This is a permanent, full-time direct-hire position. The selected candidate will work onsite in Dallas two to three days per week during the first one to two months and then transition to a fully remote schedule.

The starting base salary is $110,000-$120,000, depending on experience. The company also offers an excellent benefits

  • Requirements:

Required Qualifications
– At least two years of hands-on experience supporting AWS infrastructure in production environments
– One of the following active AWS certifications:
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
– Experience writing and modifying IaC templates, with a clear understanding of the resources they deploy, using
CloudFormation, Terraform, or an equivalent technology
– Working knowledge of core AWS services involving compute, storage, databases, networking, and security
– Experience creating scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate operational tasks, rather than only modifying or running
existing scripts
– Experience using CloudWatch, PagerDuty, or an equivalent monitoring and alerting platform
– Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines
– Experience with Git-based workflows
– Proven troubleshooting ability, including the ability to explain a technical problem, the diagnostic process used, and the
resulting resolution

Preferred Qualifications
– Experience with multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations or AWS Control Tower
– Foundational knowledge of AWS generative AI services, including Amazon Bedrock and related cost considerations
– Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup, and business-continuity planning within AWS
– Microsoft certifications or experience supporting Windows workloads in the cloud
– Experience with cloud governance, cost optimization, and security controls
– Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Amazon EKS
– Experience with configuration-management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
– Experience supporting Windows Server and Active Directory environments

Schedule and Employment Requirements
– Ability to participate in monthly IT maintenance and development-team code promotions during off-hours and weekends
– Ability to participate in a weekly on-call rotation approximately every six weeks
– Must be authorized to work for any United States employer without current or future sponsorship or visa transfer
