experienced Project Accountant to join its accounting team. Built on financial stability, zero debt, and sustainable

Position Overview
The Project Accountant will manage project accounting and billings for a portfolio of diverse construction projects
ranging from small-scale jobs to large developments.
The successful candidate will begin with a lighter workload of approximately 4-5 projects to allow for a smooth
onboarding process, eventually scaling up to managing 10-15 active jobs at a time. The role focuses heavily on
cost-plus billing and subcontractor management and requires excellent communication skills, strong follow-through, and
a high level of attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Billing & Documentation: Execute subcontractor billings and owner billings, including complete backup
documentation and invoice verification. - Cost-Plus Accounting: Process monthly project billings with a strong emphasis on cost-plus accounting models
using AIA G702/G703 formats. - Subcontractor Management: Manage billing-related documentation, compliance requirements, and follow-up with
subcontractors and trade partners. - Cross-Department Collaboration: Proactively follow up with project managers, superintendents, and trade
partners by phone and email to resolve billing delays, obtain required information, and ensure compliance. - Peak Volume Management: Work closely with the accounting team during peak billing periods, typically during the
last two weeks of each month, to ensure deadlines are met accurately and on time. - System Integration: Utilize construction industry accounting and project management platforms to process
workflows, maintain billing accuracy, and support transitions between software platforms. - Maintain accurate project accounting records and supporting documentation across an active portfolio of
construction projects. - Work closely with operations personnel to address project billing questions, resolve discrepancies, and keep the
billing process moving efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
- Industry Background: 2+ years of accounting or project billing experience specifically within the General
Contracting / Commercial Construction industry. - Billing Expertise: Hands-on knowledge of AIA G702 and G703 project billing protocols, cost-plus billing structures,
and subcontractor compliance. - Software Familiarity: Experience using construction management and accounting software such as Textura,
Procore, Sage 300, or CMiC is highly preferred. - Communication & Detail: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive mindset and willingness
to pick up the phone to track down information and clear billing bottlenecks. - Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple active projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with project managers, superintendents, accounting team members, subcontractors, and
trade partners. - Career Stability: Demonstrated history of long-term stability with previous employers.
