The Information Security Officer/IT Generalist who joins our financial organization will be responsible for development and implementation of IT strategy to support the institutions business strategy and for ensuring data security within our organization. This includes implementing effective technology solutions that prevent internal and external malicious users from compromising data integrity as well as maintenance/installation of hardware devices to ensure data protection, etc. and will train other system users in proper computer use and provide tips on how to avoid data corruption.

This position will include the following responsibilities:

IT performance monitoring and management - system capacity and availability

IT acquisition oversight

IT training

IT professional development

Oversee the IT budget; participate in IT budget development

Familiarity and understanding of all Bank IT policies and procedures

Adhere to all FFIEC guidelines

Maintenance and enforcement of access privileges through principle of least possible privilege; includes Fiserv, network and all third party providers (i.e. FHLB, Federal Reserve)

Maintain standardization as addressed in policy

Network maintenance

Database management

Security monitoring and management - respond to all system alerts and review various security logs (IDS/IPS)

Software patch management including testing and deployment

Workstation maintenance

System Administration

Telecommunications management

Disaster Recovery

User Support

System Management including back up procedures and recovery

Oversee third party service provider arrangements

Annual review of system assets; hardware and software. Maintain Network Topology map showing data flows as required by FFIEC guidelines

Identification of data flows, controls of that data and maintenance of access.

Self-assessment of access controls

Review and develop Business Continuity Plan (BCP);  participate in testing

IT operations areas:


     Data Storage

     Security - physical and logical

     eBanking systems

     Imaging systems

     Item processing systems including branch capture and merchant capture

     Balancing and reconciliation

     Change management and change control

     Equipment maintenance


A bachelor's degree in information technology, systems security, or a related field is required for this position. In addition, previous experience in a similar information security capacity is preferred.
