The Asst Warehouse manager supports the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily operations, staff supervision, inventory management and shipping/receiving. This role ensures warehouse activities align with company standards for accuracy, safety, efficiency and compliance.  The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, strong problem-solving ability and a commitment to continuous process improvement across all warehouse functions.

 

Work Experience

- 3-5 years of warehouse/logistics experience with supervisory responsibilities

- Proficient in using computers, including inventory management software, POS systems and barcode/RFID scanning tools

- Strong knowledge of inventory control, receiving/shipping protocols and warehouse operations

- Familiar with OSHA standards, warehouse safety and equipment operation (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)

- Effective communication and team leadership skills

- Detail-oriented with strong time management and organization abilities

- Able to lift 75 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods in warehouse conditions

- Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish preferred, if applicable)

- Must have a valid Texas Driver License and the ability to drive a 26-foot bobtail truck

- Track KPIs related to order accuracy, delivery timelines and inventory variances

- Assist in identifying workflow inefficiencies and propose improvement

- Maintain accurate documentation and generate reports for internal use or audits

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and engage in physical tasks such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing ladders and carrying heavy furniture over 75lbss

- Adaptability to various environmental conditions within the warehouse

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks and other machinery safely

- Demonstrate the ability to perform job duties with utmost professionalism and integrity, maintaining a drug-free workplace environment

- Must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance and safely perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, while meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity requirements

- Assist in recruitment, onboarding and training of warehouse staff

- Monitor staff performance, assist with reviews and provide coaching or corrective action as needed

- Approve timecards and coordinate with HR/payroll to ensure accuracy

- Support workforce scheduling, shift planning and employee retention efforts

 

Daily Duties

- Oversee cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy

- Maintain and update records in the inventory management system (ERP/WMS)

- Support inventory movement, replenishment, rotation (FIFO/LIFO), and reconciliation efforts

- Implement loss prevention practices and support audit readiness

- Coordinate daily shipping/receiving activities and verify documentation accuracy

- Supervise order picking, wrapping, labeling and dispatching

- Supervise and prepare items for house-calls, showroom transfers or vendor returns

- Oversee loading and unload of trucks, verifyi9ng secure placement and safe transport of furniture

- ensure proper handling and inspection of inbound and outbound freight

 

Vendor, Sales & Cross-Departmental Collaboration

- Liaise with purchasing, accounting and sales departments for order accuracy, forecast planning and stock rotation

- Provide insights into warehouse capacity, cost efficiency and inventory turnover trends

- Assist with vendor and carrier coordination to secure timely shipments and maintain service standards
