Position Overview

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Superintendent to lead large-scale commercial projects involving ductwork fabrication and installation. This leadership role demands a hands-on professional with deep technical expertise and a proven ability to guide teams efficiently from start to finish.

 

About the Role

We're on the lookout for a driven and detail-oriented individual who can manage Sheet Metal operations on projects valued between $250K and $10M. This person will be responsible for ensuring that field work is executed safely, efficiently, and up to industry standards, all while keeping projects on track and within budget.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate field teams including forepersons, journeymen, and apprentices
  • Lead daily operations for sheet metal installation activities with a focus on quality and safety
  • Develop and track construction schedules specific to sheet metal scopes of work
  • Monitor material usage, labor, and installation costs to keep projects on budget
  • Work closely with project stakeholders including contractors, managers, and trade partners
  • Participate in meetings to provide updates and resolve any field-related issues

 

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in HVAC or mechanical construction, with a specialty in sheet metal and/or piping systems
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical drawings, specifications, and local building codes
  • Familiarity with cross-discipline coordination in a commercial construction environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to manage multiple teams and schedules simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive timelines and maintain high standards
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
