Established DFW based manufacturer seeking candidates for a Sr Cost Accountant position.
About the Role
Selected candidate will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports.
Responsibilities
Responsible for and support financial functions and activities including but not limited to:

Gather and compile cost information and maintain a database concerning expenses.

Set up standard cost for new part and prepare annual standard cost roll.

Develop systems and procedures for accumulation systems and/or cost accounting functions.

Determine fixed costs such as salaries, rent, and insurance.

Predict, plan, and record variable costs such as purchases of raw materials, labor, and operation costs.

Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify inaccuracies.

Collaborates/lead crossed function teams for kaizen projects.

Reviews and analyzes PPV and work order variances.
-
Creates ad hoc cost study and report for decision-making.

Prepares necessary departmental and company-wide budgeting reports.

Reviews, analysis and reports on actual profit margins.

Performs month-end and year-end closings and assists with reporting.

Reconciles inventory and assist with cycle count discrepancies research.

Determines and recommend cost-effective solutions.

Provides product sample costs for Marketing and General Accounting.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA/CMA) preferred not required.

Experience in Cost Accounting Required.

Manufacturing Experience Preferred.
-
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to satisfy AFSI ITAR requirements.
Required Skills
-
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing accounting, including job costing and inventory.

Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Solid knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.).

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access; working with pivot tables and connected data.

Ability to be flexible with schedule to meet deadlines and departmental goals.

Ability to thrive in a high-growth industry and willing to be hands-on and take initiative.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with individuals on a global level and with all levels of management.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing quality, timely work.

Must be able to work individually and in a team.
